According to Daniel's mother, "Daniel is 13, but lives his life as a six-month old." You see, the Grandbury resident has been diagnosed with Microcephaly and a host of other conditions since his birth.
In an effort to assist his family in transporting Daniel from place-to-place, and make it easier on others to watch Daniel, Variety's Heart of Variety Fund assisted the Granbury family with the procurement of an adaptive stroller custom designed for his condition.
But, as usual, Variety did the presentation in style.
Thanks to a donation from, DLP Cinema, a Variety Corporate Member, Daniel and his family were treated to the VIP treatment at the April 5 O'Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.
As guest of DLP, Daniel and his family not only got to watch the festivities from the air conditioned confines of one of Texas Motor Speedway's Luxury Suites, but they even got to meet NASCAR and Nationwide driver Kyle Busch prior to race.
And wouldn't you know it...Kyle ended up winning the race that day. The first race won by a DLP sponsored vehicle.
In addition to all of the events that took place that day, Variety later presented Daniel with a commemorative t-shirt signed by Hall of Fame Racing owners, and Dallas Cowboy greats, Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman.
